About

Harris Medovic

AI consultant. Based in Copenhagen. 17 years inside global enterprise before starting Brain at Work.

Background

From enterprise insider to independent advisor

Over 17 years I built and ran enterprise technology at a Danish global manufacturer — 12,000 employees, operations spanning 43 countries. I led digital transformation programmes, negotiated with global vendors, managed multi-million-kroner budgets, and owned security and compliance for a global employee-facing stack serving every business unit.

I know what it takes to get an AI initiative past legal, IT security, and the board in the same quarter — because I have sat on their side of the table, fielding the same objections you are hearing now.

I left to build Brain at Work because the AI landscape moves faster than any enterprise can track from the inside. I follow it obsessively — running open-source models on my own private infrastructure, stress-testing what is genuinely production-ready before recommending it — and I bring the enterprise context to make it land inside a real organisation with real constraints.

The backstory

Building a Gen-AI Centre of Excellence

When generative AI broke through in 2023, I was already leading digital workplace strategy for a global manufacturer. The executive team wanted to move fast. Legal and IT security wanted to move carefully. I was the person in the middle.

I stood up a Gen-AI Centre of Excellence — not as a research lab, but as an operational function. We evaluated models, defined governance frameworks, ran pilots with real business units, and built the internal capabilities to deploy AI responsibly at enterprise scale.

The experience taught me that the technology is rarely the bottleneck. What stalls AI adoption is the gap between what a model can do in a demo and what your organisation can actually deploy, govern, and scale. Bridging that gap — with the right governance, the right infrastructure, and the right expectations — is what I do now as an independent consultant.

Based in Copenhagen. Working across the Nordics and EU.

How I work

Operating principles

Production over presentations

I deliver running systems, not slide decks. If it doesn't work in your environment with your data, it doesn't count.

Independence by design

Every engagement ends with your team owning the system. Full documentation, training, and operational runbooks. I make myself unnecessary.

Weeks, not quarters

First working output within weeks. If something isn't delivering value fast, we change direction or stop. No six-month discovery phases.

No delegation

One consultant, one conversation. The person you talk to is the person doing the work. No account managers, no handoffs, no surprises.

Personal proof-of-work

The lab

I operate the same production-grade AI infrastructure I help clients deploy — a 122B parameter LLM, a RAG pipeline over 600,000+ documents, agentic automation, full observability, encrypted storage. Everything I recommend, I have already run, debugged, and documented.
